It would help if you would provide references for your information, especially since your warning is potentially so serious. You imply that carrying a BlackBerry in a holster is safe, but not in your pocket. Do you mean in your pocket but NOT in a holster, or what? And if the Pearl's SAR rating is under the max allowed, wouldn't that make it safe (assuming the actual SAR and the max SAR are correct)?

For years I've wondered if we'd all wake up one day shocked to find that cell phones were dangerous. But so far, no big outcry has come. When respectable research shows that it's dangerous, it's time to listen. That's why I ask that you provide references to back up your claims.

How many of you are aware that just about every BlackBerry device that RIM manufactures comes with a warning to not carry the phone in your pocket? The FCC requires RIM to warn every user of the Pearl to carry the device in a holster and not on the body. Well, technically, they say to never hold the device closer than .98 inches from the body when it's on. This is a serious safety warning required by the FCC and RIM is not properly warning us about it.

I carried my Pearl around in my pocket for 8 months before someone told me. My 17 year old daughter and her friends receive up to 8,000 calls and text messages a month with their Pearl in their pockets. This is an FCC safety requirement that prevents users from being exposed to more than the maximum allowed amount of microwave radiation. And, with the Pearl's SAR rating at 1.52 (max. allowed is 1.6), we better heed the warning!!!

Go check out these facts. It's important for your safety (and especially for children and teens.)
