    Hello Everyone,

I just purchased the BB World Edition for personal, and future (two years time) business use. So fat, I am in love with this phone; I am a little dissapointed that is so expensive, but I am hoping that it will be a wise investment for my future; especially, since I didn't pay full retail price.

    Any thoughts on that?

Anyway, I would like to know if the following is possible to do with my BB World, and if so, how to do achieve it:

    1. How do I get tasks on my calendar? i.e. My calendar shows up, but it does not show tasks, such as my assignments I have due for class, notes on appointments etc.

    2. How do I make the browser homepage on my BB look like my browser homepage on my laptop along with my favorites link? i.e. My screen when I double-click on my web browser is my YahooMail, and then I also have my favorites link that becomes a drop-down menu with my favorite sites linked in it.

Thank you for all your advice, help, and opinions.

    Have a nice day.

  2. Kathleen,
Congratulations on getting your new BlackBerry. Sounds like you plan on doing some traveling in your future career. Well, that's the phone you want. I have two brothers who travel all over the globe and the World Edition is what they pack.

If you get a job where your employer expects you to travel and be available, they probably will furnish you a BlackBerry. So between now and then, you can become an expert on using it. Hanging out around newBBie.com will help immensely there. You'll be able to teach your boss a thing or two. Such as the below:

    Tasks on Calendar:
    1. Open Calendar.
    2. Press Menu key.
    3. Select Options.
    4. Select General Options.
    5. Scroll down to Show Tasks. Set to Yes.
    6. Return to calendar and verify that tasks show up at correct date and time.

    Change BlackBerry Browser home page:
    1. Open BlackBerry Browser and open the page you want to be your new Home Page.
    2. Press Menu key.
    3. Select Options.
    4. Select Browser Configuration. Scroll down to Home Page Address.
    5. Click the Use Current button.
    6. Close browser, re-open it, and verify that it starts at the new Home Page.
    7. Be aware that a corporate-controlled BlackBerry may have an IT policy and BlackBerry Enterprise Server that prohibits that particular change.

  3. Blackberry owners are by far the luckiest when it comes to mobile phone accessories. With its global admiration, anyone and everyone make and distribute Blackberry accessories. And these aren’t just your average, run of the mill accessories, these products have to live up to the BlackBerry standard, with that said I give you BerryBUDDY. BerryBUDDY is the newest and hottest way to charge and sync your Blackberry Pearl, Blackberry Curve and your Blackberry Bold.

  4. @Kathleen,
Glad you love your new World Edition. I'm sure it will be worth every penny.

    1. You can schedule reminders for Tasks, either on a given date/time, or some amount of time before the due date. But I know of know of no way of making the task show up on the calendar. I'm sure you've thought of just making your task a Calendar Appointment, either instead of, or in addition to, a Task. I'm pretty sure there are 3rd-party apps that might be more flexible than the standard BB apps.

    2. To set a new BlackBerry Browser home page, open your browser and manually type the address to Go To there. The do: (press Menu key) > Options > Browser Configuration. Scroll down to Home Page Address and click the Use Current button.
